The first female African American circuit court judge in St. Louis city, retired Judge Evelyn Baker ’66, will receive Rosati-Kain’s Legacy Award Oct. 19th at the school’s City Lights Gala and Auction. A trailblazer and lifelong public servant, Baker is best known for her efforts to free a juvenile offender she sentenced to life in prison, as well as her subsequent commitment to juvenile justice reform. Rosati-Kain Academy's Legacy Award honors alumna who have achieved notable success in their professional fields, who demonstrate exceptional commitment to community service, and who exemplify the school values of humilitas (humility), scientia (knowledge), caritas (love), and virtus (virtue) in their personal and professional lives. We look forward to honoring Judge Baker for her advocacy and her heart-felt love for Rosati-Kain Academy.
